Singer Jose Chameleone has spoken publicly for the first time about the circulation of a private video involving his son, Abba Marcus Mayanja, saying he has deliberately avoided watching the footage. The video, which spread widely on social media a few weeks ago, generated significant online discussion and drew criticism over the sharing of private content without the consent of those involved.
While Abba Marcus has not publicly commented on the incident, his girlfriend, Angel, condemned the circulation of the video through a series of social media posts and live broadcasts. She questioned why public attention was focused on their private lives instead of supporting Abba’s music career.
Speaking in a recent interview, Chameleone said he rarely spends time browsing social media beyond sharing his own content, explaining that he was largely unaware of the video’s circulation.
“I am not really an internet person, so I wouldn’t come across such things. I go on social media to post what I want to tell people and then leave. I don’t spend time reading comments or following everything that’s trending,” he said.
The veteran musician added that, even if he came across the footage, he would have no interest in watching it because it involved his own child.
“I can’t even watch it. Imagine sitting down to watch your own son’s private video. If it were your child, would you watch it? It’s simply wrong,” Chameleone said.
His comments come weeks after the leaked video sparked widespread debate on social media, with many users raising concerns about privacy, consent and the ethics of sharing intimate content online.
