At least 24 soldiers of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) were injured on Saturday after a military truck overturned in Agago District while transporting personnel to Gulu City.The accident involved a military vehicle attached to the 5th Infantry Division Training School in Labwordwong.
The soldiers were travelling to the 4th Infantry Division Barracks in Gulu when the vehicle reportedly overturned.The injured soldiers sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to medical facilities for treatment.
The cause of the accident had not been officially established by the time of publication, and there was no immediate statement from the UPDF on the circumstances surrounding the crash.Authorities are expected to investigate the incident to determine what led to the accident.No fatalities had been reported. The condition of the injured soldiers was not immediately disclosed.
