Police in Mpigi District have detained Jajja Ivan Muwanga, a well-known traditional healer from Kamengo, over allegations that he kidnapped children and may have been involved in the disappearance of at least twelve minors. His arrest followed a reported abduction attempt involving a young girl, Proscovia Nassazi. According to authorities, Nassazi escaped after Muwanga allegedly tried to seize her. Ten people have been confirmed dead following a fatal road crash involving a taxi and a stationary trailer along the Busia Highway in Bugiri District in the morning.
