KAMPALA — Ugandan businessman and Honorary Consul of Nepal to Uganda, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, has conveyed his support to the people of Nepal following devastating floods that have affected communities across the country.
In a message expressing solidarity with Nepal, Ruparelia said he was deeply saddened by the disaster and extended his sympathies to families who have lost relatives. He also offered his prayers and thoughts to those dealing with the consequences of the floods.
He expressed particular sympathy for families mourning loved ones and for communities whose lives have been disrupted by the disaster.
Ruparelia also recognised the efforts being made to respond to the crisis, commending Nepal’s government, rescue personnel, volunteers and members of the public who have joined relief efforts.
He praised those involved in rescue and support operations for their bravery, commitment and continued efforts to assist people in the affected areas.
Speaking in his capacity as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Nepal to Uganda, Ruparelia reaffirmed Uganda’s solidarity with the Nepalese people during the difficult period.
He called for continued strength and safety for those affected and expressed hope that Nepal would recover quickly from the impact of the disaster.
The floods have left communities across Nepal facing deaths, displacement and serious disruption to normal life. Emergency and relief teams continue to work in areas that have experienced some of the greatest effects of the flooding.
Ruparelia’s message also highlights the people-to-people connection between Uganda and Nepal, demonstrating how relations between the two countries extend beyond official diplomatic engagements.
