Three men accused of carrying out an armed robbery in Katabi Town Council were arrested in the early hours of Sunday after police surrounded the house where they had taken refuge and found them hiding in the ceiling.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. in Kabaale B Ward, where the suspects allegedly forced their way into a residence while armed with pangas. During the robbery, they reportedly stole Shs570,000 in cash and a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 mobile phone from the occupants.

Following a report from the victims, police officers swiftly responded to the scene and cordoned off the premises. A search of the house led to the discovery of the three suspects concealed in the ceiling.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Public Relations Officer ASP Luke Owoyesigire identified the suspects as Sekitoleko Acram, Oluka Robert, and Mbazira Bashir.

According to police, officers recovered the stolen Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Shs240,000, believed to be part of the cash taken during the robbery.

ASP Owoyesigire praised residents for providing timely information and cooperating with investigators, noting that community support played a significant role in the successful operation.

The suspects remain in police custody as detectives continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the robbery and work to recover the remaining stolen money.
