Naggalama Police Division is investigating a fatal accident that occurred this morning June 12, 2025, at the Ministry of Water and Environment office in Nakifuma, along the Nakifuma-Kayunga road claiming the life of Kamuli LC5 Chairman, Charles Maxwell Kuwembula.
The accident happened this morning when Kuwembula’s vehicle UG 699M (Toyota Hilux Double Cabin, white) driven by himself heading to Kamuli from Kampala, rammed into the parked UBR 835K (Hacman yellow) near Nakifuma Trust Medical Center.
It is reported that the victim was returning home after picking nomination forms at NRM Secretariat, to contest in the forthcoming general elections.
According to the spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan Police SSP Patrick Onyango, Kuwembula died on the spot, and his body was found trapped in the wreckage.
Onyango stated that the driver of the truck fled the scene and police are continuing with inquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the accident.
