An angry woman who had suffered in Saudi Arabia doing house girl work has killed her husband by stabbing after coming back to find he had married another woman using her hard earned cash.
According to police, Atuhaire Justin stabbed her husband, Gumisiriza Amos of Rushambya Cell, Kashozi Parish, Ishongororo Sub-county, Ibanda on 30th July, 2024 at around 17:00PM>
Atuhaire Justin attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by locals who beat her severely. She was later rescued by the police and rushed to Ishongororo HC IV for treatment but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
It is alleged that Atuhaire had gone to Saudi Arabia for work and sent money home to her husband for development purposes.
“Upon her recent return, she discovered that her husband had used the money to marry another woman, which angered her. In a fit of rage, she stabbed him in the neck with a sharp object, leading to his death,” says a police statement dated 2nd August 2024.
Both bodies were taken to Ishongororo HC IV for postmortem examinations.
The police have not yet made any arrests related to the mob action that led to the death of Atuhaire but are continuing their inquiries into the matter.
