A gruesome case of suspected murder has left Namawojjolo East village reeling after a young woman was reported missing and later found dead.
Nyawede Jackline, aged 25, was last heard from on April 27, 2025. Her sudden disappearance prompted immediate police action to investigate her whereabouts.
Through phone tracking, authorities learned Jackline had communicated with her ex-boyfriend, Muyagu Abu, before her phone went offline. This lead directed police to Abu’s residence.
A search of the property uncovered chilling evidence: Jackline’s phone and a human head wrapped in cloth. Nearby, a headless body, presumed to be Jackline’s, was found in a garden.
Police have arrested three suspects linked to the crime: Muyagu Abu, 28; Kizito Mubaraka, 34, a reported traditional healer; and Bakabulindi James, 28. Authorities suspect the murder may involve ritualistic motives, though investigations continue.
The victim’s remains were transported to Mulago Hospital for a postmortem to verify identity and determine the cause of death. Police have meticulously processed the crime scene to reconstruct the events.
SSP Patrick Onyango, Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, confirmed the arrests and vowed to pursue justice. The community remains in shock as the investigation unfolds
