UNCC seeks partnership with Next Media to promote Art & Culture industry

Kampala, (UG):– The Uganda National Culture Centre (UNCC) is seeking a partnership with Next Media Services that is aimed at promoting art and cultural activities in the country

Officials from UNCC on Wednesday, August 14, visited the Naguru-based media house and were taken around the company’s premises, further holding discussions with the company’s top management over the partnership

The officials were led by UNCC Board Chairperson, Professor Okaka Opio Dokotum and Executive Director Mr Francis Peter Ojedde, alongside other members of the board who included Phina Mugerwa, Lillian Mbabazi and Hannington Bujingo

In the meeting, Bujingo said they are seeking a partnership with Next Media and other companies and organizations to help them popularize UNCC because they have a lot of art and cultural activities to promote

“We are here because UNCC’s mandate is to promote art and cultural activities throughout the year and it is the reason why we are looking for partners like you to work with us in the next art and culture activities,” Bujingo said

On his side, Next Media Chief Executive Officer Mr Kin Kariisa said they are willing to work with UNCC to help them deliver their mandate

“We have all the platforms that target the different audiences in Uganda and Next Media is willing to join you in promoting art and culture,” Kariisa said

Before the meeting, UNCC held a meeting with the different representatives of the creative industry to get their views on how the industry will be developed under the National Development Plan
