Mbarara City – Police in Mbarara City have launched an investigation into the tragic death of Nahwera Prossy, a 20-year-old student pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). The young woman’s lifeless body was discovered in her hostel room on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the police flash report, the grim discovery was made by Prossy’s roommate at approximately 4:00 PM in Teso Village, where the student resided. Authorities were immediately alerted, and the scene was secured for further examination. The cause of death remains unknown, prompting police to transfer the body to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem to determine the circumstances surrounding her untimely demise.
SP Kasasira Samson, the Public Relations Officer for the Rwizi Region, confirmed that inquiries into the matter are ongoing. “We are treating this case with the utmost seriousness and are committed to uncovering the truth,” SP Kasasira stated. “Our team is working diligently to gather all necessary information, and we urge anyone with relevant details to come forward.”
The news of Prossy’s death has left the Mbarara University community in mourning.
