UNABSEC and Ruparelia Group Strengthen Construction Partnership Amid Rajiv Legacy Tribute

The Uganda National Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors (UNABSEC) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Ruparelia Group and VCON Construction (U) Ltd following a courtesy visit focused on expanding cooperation within Uganda’s construction and infrastructure industry.

The UNABSEC delegation, headed by President Mrs. Kiara Binta Nkuranga, held discussions with Ruparelia Group Chairman Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia and Mr. Prabhat Mishra, the General Manager of VCON Construction (U) Ltd.

According to the association, the meeting provided an opportunity to reinforce the existing relationship between the two organizations while outlining UNABSEC’s mission, ongoing initiatives, and strategic priorities for advancing Uganda’s construction sector.

The discussions also examined potential areas of collaboration aimed at driving industry growth through innovation, improved safety standards, and sustainable construction practices.

During the engagement, UNABSEC expressed appreciation to VCON Construction (U) Ltd for confirming its participation as a Silver Sponsor of the 2nd Uganda Construction & Infrastructure Forum & Exhibition (UCIFE) 2026 and the Contractors’ Run 2026. The association described the company’s support as a valuable contribution toward the success of the forthcoming industry events.

The delegation also conveyed its sympathies to the Ruparelia Group and the VCON Construction team following the passing of Rajiv Ruparelia. Members acknowledged his contribution to the country’s construction sector and noted that his efforts to support industry development would continue to be remembered.

UNABSEC further expressed confidence that stronger collaboration with the Ruparelia Group and VCON Construction would contribute to building a more innovative, safe, and sustainable construction industry in Uganda.
