Sad news has emerged about the death of Ahereza Ambrose, a Ugandan national who had been working in Thailand, after he was reportedly abducted and killed by unknown assailants last week.

According to information obtained, Ambrose was allegedly kidnapped by armed men whose identities and motives remain unclear. Reports indicate that the assailants later contacted his family and demanded a ransom of Shs60 million in exchange for his release. Family members and friends reportedly made efforts to mobilize the money, but they were unable to raise the required amount within the time given.

Tragically, Ambrose was killed before any agreement could be reached or rescue secured.

His death has sent shockwaves through Ugandan communities both at home and in the diaspora, particularly among migrant workers in Asia who often face uncertain and challenging conditions while working abroad.

Adding a chilling dimension to the incident are videos Ambrose reportedly shared on his TikTok account about 35 days before his abduction. In the clips, he expressed fears about his safety and spoke emotionally about being worried he might lose his life while far away from home. Since news of his death broke, the videos have resurfaced online, leaving many social media users deeply disturbed.

Friends and family have since taken to social media to mourn him, describing Ambrose as a hardworking and determined young man who had traveled abroad in search of better opportunities.

Authorities in Thailand had not yet released detailed information about arrests or suspects by the time of reporting, and investigations into the matter are believed to be ongoing.

Ahereza Ambrose’s death is a painful reminder of the risks some Ugandans face while working overseas, sparking fresh calls for stronger protection and support systems for migrant workers.
