Ugandan fans show love to Andre Onana

As the team bus approached the stadium, Onana and his teammates took videos of the fans going wild as he drew the window to wave at them.

Throughout the game fans in the stands chanted Onana’s name.

As the videos spread around the world, Manchester United legend and former captain Rio Ferdinand took to social media to commend the Ugandan fans for showing immense love to the goalie.

He posted, “Love This” to a video of the fans chanting Onana’s name in the stand.

At the end of the match – a goalless draw, — Onana approached the stand and hurled his glove to one of the fans.

The fan later posted the video on social media showcasing his priceless souvenir.

Several videos also went viral of Onana being swamped by hundreds of fans as he made his way to the bus, causing a security concern.

Police officers were seen attempting to protect the Cameroonian.

He was quickly whisked into a Toyota Premio as army personnel managed to clear a path through the road, leaving the team bus behind.

Taking to X, Onana shared a hearty thank-you to the Ugandan fans, promising to see them again next month.
