He emphasised the urgency of action, saying, “The time to act is now if we are to see positive and sustainable outcomes.”

Stephen Mukasa, Country Team Leader for CEO Summit Uganda, echoed the need for corporate action, noting, “This year’s forum gives us, as leaders, the chance to really reflect on where we stand with the state of our planet—and take responsibility for it. One of our main goals is to come together, build a solid plan to fight climate change, and make sure our efforts actually leave a lasting impact.”

Dorcas Batwala Muhwezi, General Manager, Customer Experience at MTN Uganda, urged business leaders to embrace sustainability for long-term success. “As business leaders, we must recognise the crucial role the private sector plays in advancing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles through innovation, investment, and sustainable practices,” Muhwezi said.

The forum was held under the theme “Only One Earth – Our Purpose and Mandate,” with a strong call for decisive corporate leadership in addressing climate change.
