The State House Anti Corruption Unit working with Uganda Police have arrested and have arraigned two officials of Busolwe Town Council, Butaleja District before the Anti-Corruption Court on charges of Abuse of Office.
The Unit says in May 2022, the two officials; Hirya Julius (Town Clerk) and Namutiga Charles Guloba (Assistant Engineer), allegedly abused their authority by irregularly approving contracts to World Host Consultants Ltd, for the designing of the town council structural plan without following procurement procedures.

”This impunity resulted in the loss of public funds in payments to the irregularly contracted World Host Consultants Ltd. They have been remanded until 14/06/2024,” says the Unit.
