Authorities in Trans Nzoia County have launched an investigation into the sudden and tragic death of a 47-year-old female teacher.The lifeless body of Doris Mukite was discovered by family members at her residence in Simotwet village, Kitalale.
According to reports, Doris, a teacher at St. Philip’s Tuuyokony Secondary School, was found hanging from the roof of her house, a scene that has left loved ones and colleagues in deep sorrow.Police officers who responded to the distress call confirmed that there were no visible signs of physical assault on the body, aside from bruising on her neck, believed to have resulted from a struggle during the incident.
Investigators noted the absence of a suicide note, leaving the motive behind the suspected suicide unclear.
The body was moved to a local mortuary, where it will undergo a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Meanwhile, detectives are continuing their inquiries, speaking with family members, neighbors, and colleagues in an effort to piece together the circumstances leading up to the tragedy.
