Shock and grief have gripped Ugandans after news emerged that a young politician, only identified as Bobi, has died in Qatar, reportedly due to overwork and minimal rest.
Sources close to the family revealed that Bobi had traveled to Qatar several months ago in pursuit of work opportunities and to support his political ambitions back home. However, friends say he was working grueling hours with barely any time to sleep, a routine that is now believed to have taken a toll on his health.
According to reports, Bobi collapsed at his workplace and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. Preliminary medical examinations point to extreme fatigue and possible complications related to overwork as the cause of death.
The tragic news has sparked a wave of sorrow on social media, with friends, supporters, and fellow politicians paying tribute to his dedication, resilience, and dreams of uplifting his community. Many are also calling for greater awareness of the health risks faced by migrant workers abroad, especially those working in physically demanding or high-pressure environments.
Arrangements are underway to repatriate his body to Uganda for burial. His sudden death leaves a deep void in both his family and the political space he hoped to transform.
