A video showing a man with a panga scaring people at a restaurant went viral on social media, making many people afraid. At first, everyone thought it was a real and dangerous event, but the Kampala Metropolitan Police later explained it was not.
The police found out the video was a fake comedy skit filmed at Chez Boss Mutoto, a restaurant in Munyonyo. A man named Tokosi Ngoli from Congo and a TikToker made it to get attention online. But they didn’t plan it well, and most people in the restaurant didn’t know it was just acting.
What was supposed to be a funny video became a big problem. Tokosi Ngoli was arrested for carrying a weapon in public. Even though it was fake, showing a weapon and scaring people is against the law. His case is now with the State Attorney for more action.
The police warned people to be careful when making or sharing videos online. They said this video wasn’t a real crime, but it still scared and confused people. They told content creators to always tell others and get permission before filming skits in public places.
This shows why we need to use social media carefully. Fun videos are great, but they shouldn’t scare or harm anyone. The police are watching these cases and ask everyone to check videos before sharing or reacting to them.
