As the festive season approaches, everyone is making plans for Christmas and New Year celebrations. Tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia’s Speke Group of Hotels has lined up an array of festive activities, from Christmas luncheons at Speke Resort Munyonyo to special events across his other hospitality properties.

What sets Ruparelia apart is that while others are focused solely on the holidays, his attention has already shifted to the Easter period, when he plans to open his newest luxury property, Paradise Island Resort.

Situated just a 20-minute speedboat ride from Speke Resort Munyonyo, Paradise Island is poised to become Uganda’s premier high-end getaway, catering to honeymooners, holidaymakers, and corporate groups seeking privacy and tranquility.

Construction of the resort began on May 1, 2021, as part of a broader strategy to boost both domestic and international tourism. The retreat offers guests a unique combination of modern comfort, natural beauty, and seclusion on one of Lake Victoria’s scenic islands.

Originally designed with 22 units, rising demand prompted the addition of 16 more accommodations in the second phase. Paradise Island Resort now features a variety of lodging options, including 10 Standard Cottages, 11 Standard Cliff Hanger Cottages with sweeping lake views, 14 Deluxe Two-Bedroom Cottages, and 3 Executive Villas for guests seeking top-tier luxury and privacy.

Set on 19 acres, the resort is adjacent to a rocky island covered with native trees and home to a variety of bird species, making it a haven for bird-watching enthusiasts.

Paradise Island Resort is part of a growing portfolio of hospitality developments by the Ruparelia Group, which also includes the expansion of Kabira Country Club, the Speke Resort Convention Centre, Kingdom Hotel, and Ssese Beach Resort.
