State House hints at looming reshuffle of RDCs

Entebbe, (UG):- The Office of the Presidency under the State House has announced that a reshuffle for Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) is in the offing.

In a Monday statement released via the State House’s official social media channels, it is anticipated that the Presidential Press Unit will soon release a list of reshuffled RDCs and the media is advised to standby for updates.

“The Presidential Press Unit is preparing to announce important reshuffles of the Resident District Commissioners. Media Representatives are advised to standby for further updates,” the communique reads.

According to the statement, “These changes are part of the NRM government’s efforts to enhance governance and improve service delivery across the districts.”

The news of the RDCs reshuffle comes just months after a section of former RDCs in March this year tasked the appointing authority to find them what to do or else re-deploy them as Resident District Commissioners.

Led by former JINJA RDC Erik Sakwa, the group said some of them are broke and had resorted to accusing the appointing authority of using and dumping them.

The current RDC and RCCs were appointed in March 2022.
