Sniffer Dog Leads to Arrest of Woman Who Murdered Co-Wife in Rwampara

A Police sniffer dog called Hector has successfully led to the arrest of a woman who killed her co-wife in Mwizi, Rwampara District.

 

Nabawanuka Leticia was arrested on Monday, 4th November with the assistance of the Canine Unit for allegedly killing her co-wife identified as Nyakwezi Grace.

 

According to Police Spokesperson, ACP Kituuma Rusoke, on November 4, 2024, children discovered a woman’s body in a banana plantation, prompting police intervention.

 

The scene revealed significant evidence, including a pool of blood and signs of dragging.

 

The Sniffer dog called Hector led the officers to a locked house belonging to the deceased’s co-wife.

 

Leticia confessed upon arrest, and blood-stained clothing was found in the house she was arrested from.

 

“Police emphasize the importance of preserving crime scenes for effective investigations,” he advises.
