Serere False Apostle Arrested For Defiling Bukedea Child

Police in Bukedea Central Police Station in Bukedea District on Wednesday 11th, Sept 2024 arrested a Serere false apostle for allegedly defiling a 15 year old girl.

 

Richard Asiimwe, the Bukedea District Police Commander confirmed the arrest and identified the suspect as Emmanuel Opio.

 

He also identified the victim as Naume Ajore 15 years, a resident of Agoloto village, Acuru parish, Koena Sub County in Bukedea District.

 

It’s alleged that in June 2024, the victim suffered from persistent body illness which caused her mother, one Naume Ajore to contact some of her friends for the apostolic support. However, the apostle developed feelings for the girl.

 

“When she called the apostle, the apostle picked feelings for the girl until he impregnated her,” said DPC Asiimwe.

 

Mr. Asiimwe added that the suspect who’s in cells after discovering that the girl is pregnant went ahead to carry out a secret abortion.

 

“The suspect was in hiding after realizing that the mother of the victim had reported a case of defilement and forced abortion, so with the support of police, Today we managed to arrest him from Serere and I want to report that he is in our custody,” added Asiimwe.

 

Mr. Asiimwe also added that the victim was subjected for treatment and that the suspect is liable to face two charges of defilement and forced abortion.

 

“The apostle’s religious affiliation is not clear; we are yet to interrogate him for further information,” said Asiimwe.
