Mr. Aligi Johnson, the director of Akalo Comprehensive Secondary School in Kole District, has contributed UGX 10 million in cash to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Uganda, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, in support of his 2026 presidential campaign.

Mr. Aligi handed the money to senior presidential advisor Hon. Sam Engola, requesting that it be delivered to President Museveni as a token of appreciation for his peaceful and visionary leadership.

“I want to officially thank the President for granting us a peaceful environment and enabling us to celebrate the 63rd Independence Day,” said Mr. Aligi.
“This contribution of UGX 10 million is from my heart and my family. I wish him a prosperous campaign.”

The school director highlighted that the donation reflects gratitude for the stability that has prevailed in Northern Uganda.“As someone who grew up during the insurgency, I remember the fear and instability caused by rebel activity. I had to hide from the LRA. It was President Museveni who brought peace to our region,” he added.

Hon. Sam Engola confirmed while talking to a local news outlet that he received the UGX 10 million on Thursday, October 9, 2025, and would personally deliver it to President Museveni.

“I will officially hand over the envelope to the President during his upcoming campaign visit to Lira,” Engola said.He also pointed out that Akalo Comprehensive Secondary School currently accommodates over 1,200 students, has a storeyed building, and several other developments, crediting its growth to the stability under the NRM government.

Hon. Engola further expressed confidence that President Museveni would secure 100% of the votes in Erute South in the 2026–2031 general elections.
