On Thursday, May 15, 2025, Gashumba held his Kukyala ceremony in Sembabule District, making his intentions known to his partner’s family in a traditional way.
The Kukyala is an important step in Ugandan culture. It’s not yet the wedding, but it’s the first time the man formally visits the woman’s home to meet her parents and introduce himself.
Basically, it’s him saying, “I’m serious about your daughter.”
Sources close to the family say the ceremony was private but filled with joy, laughter, and lots of traditional food.
“He came with a small team, smartly dressed, and you could tell he meant business,” one villager shared.
“He looked very happy.”
Frank Gashumba is known for speaking his mind on TV and social media. He often talks about politics, corruption, and youth empowerment.
But today, it wasn’t about speeches — it was about love, tradition, and respect.
“He finally said, ‘I’m ready,’” said one of his friends who attended the ceremony.
“We’ve waited for this day for a long time. Everyone was like, ‘At last, Frank is settling down!’”
Photos and short videos from the event started circulating online, though Gashumba has not yet made an official post about it.
Many fans and followers have taken to social media to congratulate him, with some saying they didn’t expect the bold activist to be so traditional.
“This just shows a different side of him,” a Twitter user commented.
“He’s not just about politics — he respects our culture too.”
The name of Gashumba’s partner has not yet been made public, and the couple seems to be keeping things low-key for now.
However, people are already wondering when the Kwanjula (introduction ceremony) or even the wedding will happen.
