[PHOTOS] – Assistant Referee Left Bloodied and Bruised After Attack by Express FC Fans

Express FC fans brutally beat up assistant referee Fahad Sekayiba after their 1-1 draw with UPDF FC at Bombo Military Barracks on Friday.

The fans were disgruntled with several of Sekayiba’s decisions during the match, and they attacked him after full-time, inflicting multiple injuries. The match official was left with severe head injuries and blood streaming from his nose, mouth, and ears.

The fans also damaged the vehicle used by the match officials and their assessor.

These acts of hooliganism have long been condemned, as they not only deter other fans from attending games but are also life-threatening. Express FC could be in hot soup, as recent history has shown that teams can lose points for hooliganism. Last season, both SC Villa and Busoga United were docked points after their fans got involved in violent hooliganistic acts. West Nile side, Onduparaka FC, has also been punished by FUFA for hooliganism in the past.
