Residents of Okalibwok Cell, West Ward, Pallisa Town Council in Pallisa district are still in shock after one of their own residents killed her 2 year old son by hanging.
Rose Kayende, 22 year old mother is said to have carried out the heinous act on Monday, 19th August, 2024 out of jealousy.
According to Johnson Obakuku, the area LCI chairperson, Kayende has been having misunderstandings with the husband for the last two weeks after alleging that he has another wife in Mbale City.
He adds that on the fateful day, Kayende decided to kill her son by hanging him inside the house as a means of expressing her anger against the husband.
Samuel Semewo, the Bukedi North police spokesperson has confirmed the incident saying the case number CRB 336/2024 has been registered at Pallisa central police station and Kayende has been arrested but the body has been taken Pallisa general hospital for postmortem.
