Natasha Museveni, daughter of Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni, has surprised many Ugandans by using an android smartphone, a modest choice compared to the flashy iPhone 15 coveted by some.

A viral post by Kandiho Arthur Bataringaya on X ignited discussions, with many praising Natasha’s simplicity while others mocked those chasing expensive gadgets despite earning modest incomes.

“Natasha has Camon but you who earns 1m or less you want to buy iPhone 15, ani yabaloga???” Kandiho’s post read, prompting varied reactions.

Nyamate (JBNyamate) equated Natasha’s Samsung to an iPhone 15, while Uncle Dee (alexanderdedan) questioned the logic of taking loans for status symbols, asking, “For people who won’t even pick your calls?”

Legal Farmer (rama_or) suggested her phone might be a high-end Samsung S23 or above.

Some, like Abenitwe Gava (AbenitweGava), speculated Natasha’s choice reflects a lack of awareness about iPhones, while others, like Ahebwa ArksonBeyamba, lauded her for living within her means.

The conversation highlights Uganda’s socio-economic divides, with Natasha’s choice earning admiration for humility amid a culture of online flexing.
