Two Parish Development Model (PDM) SACCOs in Nmisindwa district have been left out in the recent Phase III payments leaving beneficiaries with sour mouths.

The tow SACCOs are Butiru PDM SACCO in Bukhabusi Sub County and Burumba PDM SAACO in Bukhaweka Town Council.

This was revealed during a PDM engagement meeting held at Murumba primary School on Monday, 11th November, 2024 by the affected beneficiaries.

Robert Nawubela, one of the affected beneficiaries says that they are very bitter with the district for not processing their money yet all SACCOs have got.

He says that they have tried to raise their concerns to district leaders but nothing has happened up to now.

Bernard Watuwa, another affected SACCO member from Butiru PDM SACCO says that the delay in releasing their money is keeping them in poverty rather help them come out it.

Bosco Nabongo, the Namisindwa Assistant Resident District Commissioner expressed his bitterness with the non-release of money saying this affects service delivery.

He promised to continue investigating into the allegations of PDM extortions which are everywhere in the district.

However, Andrew Wabweni, the Namisindwa district PDM focal person says that the delay of payment of the two SACCOs has been caused by financial inclusion system failure.

Financial inclusion is a government system which banks use to wire money to PDM SACCO accounts after the district focal person and pariah chiefs have presented names.

Wabweni reveals that names of Butiru PDM SACCO beneficiaries are mistakenly appearing on the list of Bukhabusi PDM SACCO which the system can’t pay.

He says the same with Burumba PDM SACCO located Bukhaweka town council but as a district, they have written to Kampala IT office to rectify the error such that people can get their money.

Wabweni called for patience among the affected beneficiaries saying the district is doing all it takes for them to get their money.
