Kampala City based musician, Jjingo Shafik, alias Fik Gaza, and Magoola Najibu, Mutuba David (alias Mavin Gaza), and Zziwa Charles (alias Mzungu) have been narrested in connection to surging robbery cases within and outside Katwe Division.
According to SSP Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, the four were arrested on Thursday, 3rd April, 2025 in an intelligence-led operation.
He says the operation was prompted by a surge in robbery cases within and outside Katwe Division.
During the operation, exhibits including pangas, military attire, and suspected narcotics were recovered.
“Notably, the residence of Jjingo Shafik, an artist, was found to be harboring some of the city’s most wanted criminals,” says Onyango.
Onyango says one of the suspects, Zziwa Charles, was discovered to have escaped from custody while facing a murder charge.
Sanctioned files are in place against all the suspects arrested during the operation.
