Museveni birthday fete open to public

A recent preparatory meeting at Kijaguzo Catholic Senior School saw stakeholders from both Nakaseke and Luweero districts laying out a blueprint for an unforgettable event.

The meeting outlined a series of activities spanning from entertainment and sports to community outreach, ensuring that the festivities reflect the diverse cultures and achievements of Uganda.

The Minister of State for Luwero-Rwenzori Affairs, Hon. Alice Kaboyo, extended an invitation to the public to join in the celebration of the life of the head of state and his contributions to the nation’s development.

“We invite everyone to join us as we celebrate the life and achievements of our head of state. This is not just a birthday celebration, but an opportunity to reflect on the progress Uganda has made under his leadership,” she stated.

President Museveni’s birthday celebration is more than just an event; it’s a historical homage to the NRM’s roots in Kijaguzo village.

During the tumultuous days of the bush war in the early 1980s, local residents provided shelter and supplies to the rebels.

It was here that President Museveni together with his mother Esteri Kokundeka and key figures such as Hajji Moses Kigongo and Gen. Tumwine were hidden by Mrs Maria Mukaluyinda Nakampi inside the Kijaguzo Catholic Church.

The birthday is expected to draw large crowds, coming together to honor a leader whose tenure has been marked by efforts towards stability, economic growth, and national unity.

The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, expressed her gratitude for Museveni’s “exemplary stewardship and visionary leadership,” recognizing the significant impact he has had on Uganda’s journey toward prosperity.

Adding to the tributes, the Minister of State for Disaster Preparedness, Lillian Aber, praised President Museveni’s transformative impact not only on Uganda but globally. “May the Almighty continue giving you more wisdom and good health,” she posted, celebrating the President’s enduring legacy.
