MUKONO, UGANDA – In a dramatic operation, Mukono Police have arrested bodaboda rider Livingstone Waibi and his two children—Percy Kwagala (8) and Linda Gift (10)—for allegedly aiding motorcycle thieves in a racket spanning Jinja Road to Mbalala.

The Sting Operation
How It Happened: Police tracked Waibi after reports linked him to stolen bikes (UFQ 047W and UFB 516K), one hidden in Mbalala forests.

Father’s Plea: Waibi, unemployed, begged for government help: “I can’t even afford my kids’ school fees.”

Shocking Revelations
Police Complicity?: Waibi accused officer Swabiru Matende of colluding with thieves and demanding bribes to trace a suspect’s phone.
Threats Made: A purported thief warned Waibi: “Pay me 2M or lose police support!”
Abandoned Hideout: At Kikubankima, the alleged thief’s home was found deserted, with doors wide open.
