MOROTO: Police Dog Arrests Man Who Beat, Raped & Strangled Woman to Death

Police on Friday, 23rd August, 2024 arrested a man in connection with the brutal rape and murder of a woman in Loputuk Sub County in Moroto District.
The victim identified as Aleper Okullo, a resident of Lochede village, disappeared on the night of August 21, 2024, prompting a frantic search by concerned neighbors and family members.
The search ended in tragedy when Aleper’s naked body was discovered following the search when they got the body under a bridge.
According to Karamoja Police Spokesperson, IP Mike Longole, they found her naked body lying face up before they called the police.
He says that preliminary investigations revealed that the victim had been beaten, raped, and strangled. Police quickly deployed a canine unit, which led them to the home of the prime suspect, Francis Lokee.
“The arrest of Lokee occurred after sniffer dogs tracked the scent from the crime scene directly to his residence,” says Longole.
By press time, the body of the deceased had been taken to Moroto Regional Referral Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
