Missing Woman Found Dead at US Airport, Boyfriend Flees to Kenya

According to NBC Boston, Massachusetts State Police suspect her partner, Kevin Kang’ethe, may be involved in her demise. Kang’ethe reportedly booked a flight to Kenya following the incident.Law enforcement agencies have obtained an arrest warrant for the 40-year-old Kang’ethe and are collaborating with Kenyan authorities to locate and extradite him.

The extradition treaty between the United States and Kenya establishes a legal framework for both nations to cooperate in matters related to criminal activities. The US Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) has an international operations office in Nairobi, which aids in such efforts.

Investigators are diligently working to determine the motive behind Mbitu’s tragic death and whether it was premeditated.

Margaret Mbitu, employed as a nurse at BAMSI, a non-profit organization, was reported missing on Monday. She was last seen leaving her workplace, driving a white SUV.

Tragically, 48 hours later, her lifeless body was discovered inside a car in Logan Airport’s central parking lot. Detectives have established that the vehicle is registered to Kang’ethe, who remains the primary suspect in this distressing case.

Mbitu’s family and friends fondly remember her as a kind-hearted and cheerful individual, leaving them perplexed as to why anyone would have a motive to harm her.

Jane Wambu, a family friend, expressed her grief: “I am very devastated and have been since Monday. She was very dear to my two very heartbroken daughters. She was the most kind-hearted person.”

Massachusetts State Police have reassured the public that this incident does not pose a threat to visitors at Logan Airport, as both Mbitu and Kang’ethe were acquainted with each other.
