Authorities at Mbale regional referral hospital have disowned pinned NOTOICES at different wards reading that health workers are not going to work.

On Wednesday, 11th September, 2024, patients woke up to find Notices pinned at all wards reading, “Attention attention hospital closed let HMU (State House Health Monitoring Unit) treat patients, staff are tired of HUM harassment and unprofessional bulling, no staff should attend to patients.”

Last week, the State house Health Monitoring Unit arrested four top staff over allegations of corruption and extortion of money from patients.

However, in a phone interview with this reporter, Hospital Administrator, Buruno Ojono says they don’t know the persons behind the notices.

He says that they are also investigating to find out the people behind the notices such that they can to be worked on seriously.

Ojono urged the public to be calm and come for services saying services at Mbale regional referral hospital are moving on normally.

By press time, health workers at Mbale regional referral hospital were doing their work normally.
