A renowned Masaka City based tycoon has been sent on remand for allegedly forging a Kibanja land sale agreement and using it for forceful entry.

Kasirye Elias, a business man, land dealer and money lender based in Lukaya was on Monday, 28th October, 2024 arraigned before the Masaka Chief Magistrates Court on charges of Malicious damage, Forceful entry, unlawful eviction, and theft.

In 2021, the accused connived with the daughters of the late Lukwago Francis and made a forged agreement which they backdated to 2018 making it look like the deceased had sold to him a kibanja with eucalyptus trees, with an aim of disenfranchising Mr. Walakira Paul, a bonified purchaser of the kibanja.

Kasirye went ahead to use the forged agreements to process a land title. In June 2024, without any court order or decree, He unlawfully evicted Walakira Paul, cut down his trees, sold them, and graded the land, changing the status of the land.

He has been remanded until 5/11/2024.
