MANAFWA
Manafwa district leaders have passed four divisions which will constitute the proposed Bubulo Municipality.
The district leadership led by the LCV Chairman, Hosea Kigayi Kimono LCIII Chairpersons, stakeholders and district councilors resolved this in a crisis meeting held on Monday, 28th October, 2024.
This follows a letter written by the Minister for Local Government, Raphael Magyezi saying Bubulo municipality was passed by Manafwa district council but they forgot to attach names of divisions which may make the ministry deny the district Bubulo municipality when awarding time comes as planned by government.
After the district receiving this letter last week, Hosea Kigayi called for a crises meeting involving all stakeholders to propose the names and send to ministry such that they cannot miss the coming chance.
While speaking to our reporter after the meeting, Kimono revealed that the proposed four divisions are; Bubulo division covering Manafwa town council, Buwagogo division covering Buwagogo and Bukewe sub county, Buweswa division covering Butoto and Weswa sub county and Kato division comprising Buwangani TC, Bunabuzale and Kato.
Godfrey Kabaala, a councilor representing Manafwa town council to the district expressed his happiness saying they have hope that Manafwa will be among the districts in the country which will be granted a municipality.
