Man rapes 8-month-old daughter to death
A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment without any options of parole for raping and killing his infant child.According to reports, the accused, identified as Luis Luna, 27, and a resident of Houston, Texas committed the crime against his 8-month-old daughter in August 2020.
Speaking during a press conference on 4th of October, the Harris County Attorney’s office, Savayah Mason said, the defendant was handed the sentence after a 10-day trail.It was gathered that the police was called to Luis’ home on a report that the infant had stopped breathing.
Emergency officials worked to help the baby before she was brought to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.According to the district attorney’s office, an autopsy determined that the infant died of suffocation, adding that there were marks on her neck and ligature marks that showed she had been tied up.
Authorities also noted that the baby had been sexually assaulted.
The prosecuting counsel, Attorney Edward A. Appelbaum, who prosecuted the case alongside Assistant District Attorney Sara Delgado, called the crime “one of the most horrific acts of violence imaginable,” adding “It’s the worst kind of evil in the world”.
“This baby couldn’t walk or talk, and she should have been with someone who kept her safe, but instead he abused that trust,” Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said
