Man Killed in Speeding Motorcycle Crash in Bushenyi

Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred on January 28, 2026, at 4:30 PM in Kyanyamugabo, along the Kagamba-Ishaka road in Bushenyi District.

The accident involved a white Yamaha motorcycle, registration number UG 4661R, owned by the LC3 Chairperson of Kyabugimbi Sub-county.

Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson Marcial Tumusiime confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Festo Mwesiga, 34, a resident of Nyakabando village, Kyabugimbi Sub-county, Bushenyi District.

Reports indicate that Mwesiga was riding the motorcycle from Kitagata towards Ishaka at high speed when he lost control at a bend and struck a pavement.

He was rushed to Kitagata Hospital in Sheema District but was pronounced dead on arrival. Tumusiime attributed the cause of the accident to overspeeding.
