List Of 72 Opposition MPs Who Have Signed Condemning Museveni’s Decision To Give UGX 100M To MPs

Leader of Opposition, Joel Ssenyonyi, took to his official Facebook page to address the issue surrounding the alleged clandestine disbursement of 100 million shillings to Members of Parliament from the Classified budget of State House.

In his statement, Ssenyonyi shared a list of 72 opposition MPs who signed a resolution denouncing the secretive allocation and distancing themselves from any involvement in the saga.

Ssenyonyi emphasized that signing the resolution was equivalent to taking an oath of allegiance.

It was a public declaration by the MPs to dissociate from the 100 million shillings scandal.

He warned that if any of the signatories had taken the money, the truth would eventually emerge.

He further challenged those who distributed the funds to expose any individuals who may have signed the resolution but also received the money.

The statement also took aim at MPs who refused to sign the resolution.

According to Ssenyonyi, their refusal likely stems from fear of being exposed if they had benefited from the money.

He criticized the justification being offered by some who claim they would use the funds for development projects in their constituencies, stressing that corruption cannot be justified under any circumstances.

Ssenyonyi asserted that theft remains theft regardless of how the stolen money is utilized.

He concluded that the method of distributing the funds — surreptitiously — is a clear indication of corruption.

The photos attached to his post included the full list of the 72 MPs who signed the resolution.
