A woman identified as Favour Odoba is accused of killing her husband after he married a second wife, in a tragic incident that has shocked her community.

Favour had been married to her husband for nine years, but the couple did not have children. After years of infertility, the man decided to marry another woman, who was younger and had recently given birth. This decision reportedly caused serious tension in the marriage.

According to reports, Favour later invited her husband to her home, claiming she wanted them to spend time together. She prepared food for him, but investigators say the meal was poisoned. It is also alleged that she injected him with a harmful substance.

A few hours later, the man became seriously ill and was rushed to hospital. Doctors confirmed he had been poisoned, but efforts to save his life failed. He later died.

After the incident, Favour reportedly fled and has not been seen since. Police launched a search and believe the act may have been planned. Authorities say she had no known criminal history and was known in the community as a calm and friendly person.

The man’s death has left two families devastated, including his second wife and their newborn child. Police are continuing investigations and have asked the public to report any information that could help locate Favour.

The case has sparked discussions about the emotional pressure caused by infertility and the impact of polygamy on families. Leaders and health experts have urged couples facing serious marital challenges to seek counseling and support rather than resorting to violence.

As the search continues, authorities say justice must be served, while families affected by the tragedy struggle to cope with the loss.
