Kasuku names 7 prominent figures Tamale Mirundi had a soft spot for

Kasuku, who collaborated with Mirundi for around four years, admitted he wasn’t entirely sure why Mirundi liked Diana so much but suspected they had a deep understanding of each other.

Another prominent figure Mirundi held in high regard was Speaker Anita Annet Among, who, according to Kasuku, once looked after Mirundi’s child.

In her tribute on X, Among expressed, “I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of my friend, Joseph Tamale Mirundi. As a journalist, civil servant, and social-political commentator, Mirundi made significant contributions to his country, and his loss leaves a great void. My sympathies go out to counsel John Mirundi, the entire family, his friends, and relatives. May his soul rest in peace.”

Kasuku also revealed that Mirundi had a special fondness for senior presidential advisor and former minister Anne Amelia Kyambadde. The two had worked together at State House when Mirundi served as the presidential press secretary, and Kyambadde was the Principal Private Secretary.

Despite differing political views, Mirundi also had a soft spot for lawmaker Betty Nambooze, whom he introduced to broadcast media, helping her land her first job at Star FM.

Other individuals Mirundi held close to his heart included Dr. Rose Nassali Lukwago, a former Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education; John Kakande, a former editor at New Vision; and Minister Kahinda Otafiire.
