KAMPALA: City Businessman Arrested for Forging Court Orders to Steal Land

A Kampala based businessman has been arrested and produced before Makindye Chief Magistrate’s Court on charges of Fraudulent Procurement of a Certificate of Title and Forcible Entry.

 

Mutabingwa Tonny who was arrested by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit allegedly together with others still at large, between December 2022 and March 2023 at Kisugu-Makindye Division in Kampala City, forged court orders which they used to register themselves on a certificate of title for land comprised in Block 244 Plot 8328 at Kisugu.

 

The accused who was arraigned in court on Tuesday, 30th July, 2024 went ahead to mobilize graders and a group of persons armed with machetes to forcefully and violently cut down crops and trees. They graded, sub-divided the land and later sold it off.
