The Minister of State for Defence who is also Kisoro Woman MP, Hon Sarah Mateke Nyirabashitsi, Hon Sarah Mateke Nyirabashitsi is Dead.
Mateke, also former Minister of Youths and Children Affairs reportedly died of a heart attack according to family members earlier today, 7th September, 2024.
Hon Sarah Mateke who was transferred to the Defence docket after serving as the state minister for Youths and Children Affairs was born on 15th July, 2024.
The death has been confirmed by the Minister for Presidency, Milly Babalanda who has posted on her X Handle saying, “I have received disturbing news this morning of the death of a Cabinet colleague, Hon. Sarah Nyirabashitsi Mateke (DWR-Kisoro). Very sad, indeed! N.O.C will meet with the family and organise with the Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs for a dignified send-off. A full burial program will be subsequently issued. My heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the Mateke family, H.E the President, entire Cabinet, the Ministry of Defence where she was deployed, all people of Kisoro and all Ugandans at large. May God strengthen us all and grant the late Hon. Sarah Mateke eternal rest! BMB”
