“It’s Enough For Me, I Will Not Contest Again” Top Ugandan Politician Makes This Big Announcement

Kampala Central Member of Parliament, Hon. Muhammad Nsereko, has officially announced that he will not be contesting in the upcoming 2025 election. This means he will not seek a return to Parliament, nor will he run for the Lord Mayorship of Kampala, despite speculation from many of his supporters.

For the first time since 2011, Nsereko will not hold a political position in Uganda. His political journey began in 2011 when he was elected as an MP under the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party. He has since represented the Kampala Central Division constituency. Over time, Nsereko voiced his disagreements with the NRM, leading him to eventually run as an independent candidate. In April 2013, his defiance of the party resulted in his expulsion from the NRM.

With his decision to step away from politics, the people of Kampala Central will certainly miss his presence and leadership. What are your thoughts on Nsereko’s decision not to seek another term in office? Feel free to share your views in the comments below.
