“Horror in Mubende: Pastor Kills 4-Year-Old Son”

Posted on

A local pastor in Mubende Municipality has stunned his fellow residents of Kanseera Cell by admitting to the brutal killing of his own toddler.

Pastor Alex Mugisha of the Prophecy Pentecostal Church confessed to the police after his arrest for the murder of Samuel Niyokusiima, citing psychological issues as the cause.

Mugisha claimed that he suffered from psychological challenges and sought hospital treatment, stating that the killing was not intentional and expressing remorse for his actions.

In a world where spiritual leaders are sometimes accused of engaging in human sacrifices to attract followers, Mugisha’s explanation may face skepticism in the court of public opinion.

He was apprehended immediately after the act, covered in blood and attempting to flee. His own wife, and the mother of the child, caught him in the act. Mediya Mukanohere, who had gone to the garden to gather food, returned to find her husband rushing out of the house.

She described finding her son in a pool of blood with his neck severed. She also mentioned that her husband had been mistreating her and trying to drive her out of their home, despite them having lived together with their eight children.

Local residents of Kanseera expressed concerns about the rapid increase of born-again churches in the area, calling for government intervention. Edward Katongole remarked on the suspicion surrounding these new churches, suggesting some might have sinister motives. Another local voiced shock over a pastor committing such a crime, something unprecedented in their community.

Steven Kyazze Ssemyalo, the vice chairperson for Kanseera village, noted that many of these churches emerge from disputes among pastors.

Wamala Region Police spokesperson Rachel Kawala confirmed that Mugisha was in custody and that investigations into the matter had begun.
