Gravity Omutujju reveals origin of beef with Bobi Wine

Posted on

According to Omutujju, it was during this campaign that things took a turn. He claimed that after being invited to perform in Kiteezi Parish, he asked for “fuel” instead of his usual performance fee, which didn’t sit well with Bobi Wine’s team. Since then, the rapper alleges that Bobi Wine has held a grudge against him.

Speaking on the Talk and Talk Show, ahead of a poorly attended concert over the weekend, Gravity denied accusations that he was criticising Bobi Wine due to receiving financial support from the government. He insisted that he has never promoted any politician and remains politically neutral. He even mentioned that he would perform for Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP) if invited and compensated.

Adding fuel to the fire, some speculate that their feud was exacerbated when Bobi Wine failed to promote their 2020 collaboration, Batujoozenyo. The song, politically charged and released ahead of the 2021 presidential elections, saw little support from Wine, who was himself a presidential candidate at the time. Gravity has also expressed frustration over Bobi Wine allegedly ignoring his calls in the past.

Their beef seems to be a blend of professional and personal disappointments, stretching beyond politics into the world of music.
