The Director Revenue Intelligence in Uganda Revenue Authority has resigned from his juicy job citing a negative working environment that has compromised his safety.

Brendan A. Wadri spelt out his reasons for leaving his job in a letter dated 31st July, 2024 and addressed to the President, His Excellence Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Wadri’s resignation letter

Wadri says he found himself unable to conform to the cultural values, ethics, beliefs, and behaviours being practiced at the Directorate.

Wadri further alludes to the fact that because of lack of support, he has experienced burnout and is not growing professionally.

Interestingly, Wadri’s resignation came barely three weeks after President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni created a new Unit tasked with overseeing operations at Uganda Revenue Authority and fighting corruption in the Tax Body.

The Unit called State House Revenue Intelligence and Strategic Operations Unit (SHRI&SOU) was created on 5th July, 2024 with David Kalemera appointed as a Senior Presidential Advisor and head of the Unit.
