Faiza Salima shares worst date experience

Even while heading to the hotel, Faiza Salima asked him again if they should switch to a different, possibly less expensive, restaurant, expressing concern about his spending. I never mind where a guy takes me as long as the food is good, she explained, adding: I always want a guy to choose a place within his budget to avoid stretching his finances.

At the time of the date, Salima was still a university student. The pair ended up spending over Shs200,000 at the upscale venue. After their meal, the guy excused himself, saying he needed to use the restroom, but he was gone for about 30 minutes.

“I thought he had run away,” said Salima, also known as Faiza Fabz, adding that she even considered calling her mother to help her out of the situation. However, the guy eventually returned.

When he came back, the waitress handed him a receipt instead of the bill. Salima later discovered that he had been frantically searching for a mobile money spot to withdraw cash, which he had also borrowed. “That was too much… That was too much for a date,” she said.

Faiza Salima, born on March 20, 1996, to Salim Saleh Ahmed and Rashida Awal, currently works with KFM and NTV Uganda. She attended Main Street Primary School in Jinja, PMM Girls in Jinja for her O-levels, and St Kizito Secondary School in Bugolobi for her A-levels before pursuing a degree in Mass Communication at Kampala International University.
