ENTEBBE
Court in Entebbe presided over by Entebbe Grade one Magistrate on Friday 9, 2024, charged a Reverend father with two counts including murder and attempted murder before remanding him to Kigo government prisons.
Prosecution alleges that on August 3, 2024, Rev.Fr. Dominic Alinga, 34, a resident of Alipada village, Ngoleite Sub County, Kangole Town Council in Napak district with malice aforethought murdered John Bosco Ngorok, an official with Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), which is contrary to section 171 and 172 of the penal code cap 128. It’s said the man of God lost cool and stabbed the deceased after failing to repay his Shs11M he was demanding him.
Prosecution further told Court that the accused person on the same day in Kitooro zone, Wakiso district unlawfully attempted to cause the death of Abigaba Mugisha which is contrary to section 187 Act cap 128, of the Penal code Act.
While in the court’s dock, the man of God was not allowed to take plea on grounds that the offences he allegedly committed can only be heard by High Court which has jurisdiction to hear capital offences.
Meanwhile, the presiding Magistrate who presided over court on behalf of Entebbe Chief Magistrate Stella Maris Amabilis adjourned the matter to August 26,2024 when the accused person returns to court for mention of his cases.
