Butaleja District Finally Gets Substantive Education Officer

Butaleja district has now received a District Education Officer after over ten years having an acting officer.

The new DEO is known as Aggrey Hadali, who officially assumed office on Tuesday, 6^th August, 2024 at the district head office.

He has succeeded Esther Adele who has been an acting district education officer (DEO) for over ten years now.

The handover ceremony was attended by Fred Nakisa, the district’s Auditor, Mike Yoga, the Deputy CAO, Bernard Opendi, the Inspector of Schools, and Janet Akol, also inspector of schools.

Yoga, during the handover ceremony said Hadali, is a senior and he expects him to uplift education standards in the district.

He urged Hadali, to boost team work in the department, fight the problems of absenteeism for the learners and teachers, repair all the vehicles and motorcycles that belong to the department, then manage the Finance section amicably.

On his part, Hadali told our reporter in an exclusive interview after the handover that he will start from where the former acting DEO ended.
